design
Welcome to my "analogue" section of sample reclaimed art, home accessories, and toy design concepts. Much of what I do involves some degree of repurposing or when possible, the use of local resources.
My themes are rooted in the pop-culture generation that I grew up with - so expect some bright colors and goofy hybrids!
I've been working on a set old school tv test signal paintings - on 24x30 pane of glass, backlit: in the series; Telefunken, PAL, NTSC
teaser promo-image for my up-coming line of collectible fish car hybrid (MerCar) toy designs... currently in early stages of prototyping.
Fish Car 1/18 vinyl toy design concept render. 1966 FORD F100 catfish.
Concept render of the 1st series - US street classics - of MerCar. #1 the '68 MerStang fastback (bass).
Graphic design project using just 2 colors along with black and white
Piggly Wiggly protest series - left to right CHOPPED, pulled Pork, PORK $ale, 2014. Mixed media; acrylics and embroidered velvet on 34x34inch re-purposed wood canvas. Currently for sale at 24e in Savannah.
I happened across a downright creepy 1950s breakfast ad featuring a couple god-fearing, genetically enhanced, suburbanite kids....prompting me to design this swell composition. Mixed media; acrylics on 40x40 inch re-purposed wood canvas.
Continuing with the bacon theme, and retro graphics - I painted this 3 piece series onto recycled palette wood. The final painting is 8foot x 32inch fully assembled. Acrylics on mixed media - wood and paper (recycled pork recipes).
Acrylic painting on canvas "The new world 2014 - praise be the excess"
Last winter I threw together a couple boards for some folks..."Bacon" - butcher cuts on top and raw pork belly goodness on the slippery side / "Howitzer" - converted avalanche canon on the top and ammo on the bottom. Designed in Adobe Photoshop.
PR poster (WW2 style) promoting Capt. QUINT's turbine manufacturers - RME
Inspired by 1975 JAWS and the stylings of 1950s era fighter jets - Capt. QUINT (aptly named after Robert Shaw's ill-fated character) - is a limited production vinyl toy currently prepping for manufacture...
These various camouflage patterns will allow Capt. QUINT to adapt to all kinds of marine habitats with ease. These will be offered as limited editions complimenting the original design.
Could there be a more fitting career choice for a zombie? I thought up this guy while anticipating a set of NY strips at the meat dept. Called him "Bub" in homage to G. Romero. Done in acrylics.
Zombie Outbreak First Response Kit; locally hand-crafted with brand-name content results in a decorative yet usable kit. limited production on commission for $300 a piece - available in black, blue, green, red and white - light or dark stain
